|Dianne Smith is a proud Victorian, passionate about growing industry capability and local jobs with a well-connected business and government network across Victoria. Prior to ICN, Dianne held various senior positions including Chief Executive at the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce and Chief Executive of the Victoria Tourism Industry Council. Her skills include Government Relations, Advocacy and Communications, Business and Industry Development, and Commercial Operational Management. Dianne was appointed to the Victorian Ministerial Advanced Manufacturing Advisory Council (2016-2018 and is currently a Board Director on the Emerald Tourist Railway Board.|
|Dr Craig Neylon is a health industry leader specialising in medical technologies. He obtained his PhD at the University of Melbourne and became an internationally acclaimed medical researcher with over 50 scientific publications. He worked overseas in Cambridge UK, Duke University Medical Centre North Carolina, and was an ambassador for Australian Science at the National Cardiology Institute in Moscow. Craig is highly experienced in the biotech and medical device industry having worked as product development manager at Sienna Cancer Diagnostics and project lead at Leica Biosystems. He was industry engagement manager for the health sector at RMIT University and a member of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.|
|Shelley is the Director of the Australian Medtech Manufacturing Centre (AMMC) a $20million Victorian Government initiative that is supporting the growth of medtech manufacturing in Victoria. The AMMC is operating as a unit within the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions working with government and industry partners to deliver targeted programs to support the growth of the sector, leveraging government as a customer.
Previously Shelley led the International Health team with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission with responsibility for global trade and investment promotion of Australia’s health and medtech sectors. She held multiple leadership roles with Austrade in including as Assistant General Manager for Health, Digital Technologies and Landing Pads, State Director and as Trade Commissioner Austrade San Francisco and New York.
Dr Erol Harvey
|Dr. Erol Harvey has a few roles. He is the CEO of the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery (ACMD), Head of Development and Translation at the Bionics Institute, a Board Member of the National Imaging Facility, is on the Industry Advisory Panel for the Australian Medtech Manufacturing Centre, a grant reviewer for the NHMRC and is a Fellow of the Academy of Technology and Engineering. He has been awarded the prestigious Clunies Ross medal for entrepreneurship and in 2010 was named Emerging Technology Entrepreneur of the Year by the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame. He founded a medical device manufacturing company, MiniFAB in 2002 and was its CEO until 2018. In 2011 MiniFAB was awarded Enabling Technology Company of the Year by the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame. He also founded the Small Technology Cluster, a business incubator for advanced technology businesses, which has evolved to be the Medtech Actuator based in Melbourne and in Singapore. He has started 18 companies and not-for-profit organisations, actively encourages young entrepreneurs and startups and regularly mentors early career scientists through the Academy’s IMNIS program.|
|Andrew is a Contracts Manager at Multiplex building the PPP New Footscray Hospital PPP. During his 10 years at Multiplex, Andrew has been involved with a range of projects including Melbourne Square, Monash Biomedical and Hopkins Correctional in Ararat.
For the Footscray Hospital Project, Andrew is responsible for the procurement of equipment as well as implementation of local content and social procurement policies.
|Jack’s Cahir is Procurement Medtech for Kane Constructions where he has worked for the past 11 years. He is currently working on the Aikenhead Centre as well as the Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre and is here today to let you know about the procurement opportunities on these two projects.|
|Roland Pryce is the National Sales Manager at Advance Filtration Group in Hallam, Victoria who has a strong focus on business development, capital equipment sales and production management.
Roland has 30 + years in HVAC and Process industries inclusive of leadership, sales, service, marketing, business and product development, engineering (including design and installation), tendering and manufacturing of capital equipment for air purification, pressurization and movement. He notes his professional achievements as several, mostly technical sales successes, which are best discussed over a beer!
